Hector e la ricerca della felicità
Questa commedia è tratta da un romanzo scritto da Francois Lelord. Ho scelto di raccontarla perché mi è sembrata di intrattenimento, leggera, buffa e dolce e allo stesso tempo profonda e ricca di messaggi interessanti.
La storia può definirsi un viaggio alla scoperta di sé stessi: il viaggio di Hector, psichiatra frustrato dal non capire come rendere felice i propri pazienti (e se stesso). Una favola per adulti, dove il protagonista si trova in una situazione di partenza in cui ha tutto ciò che può desiderare, ma l’insoddisfazione lo spinge a muoversi, a cercare avventure, a fare esperienza del mondo. Infatti il nostro protagonista – personaggio ingenuo e abitudinario – si ritroverà a affrontare tentazioni e situazioni critiche al limite della sopravvivenza per capire alla fine che la felicità.… beh non faccio anticipazioni, sennò vi rubo la sorpresa del finale.
Posso però raccontarvi che Hector inizia il suo viaggio su un aereo che lo porterà in Cina, e appena decollato troverà nel suo zaino un quaderno, dove appuntare i suoi disegni e gli insegnamenti che apprenderà lungo la via. Per tutto il film scriverà – in un preciso elenco puntato – le illuminazioni che il percorso gli offrirà, rendendo il film un racconto a capitoli. Non avendo pretesa di trovare la verità su tutto, alcune di queste riflessioni lasciano il dubbio in noi e anche nel protagonista, e dimostrano quanto Hector abbia ancora da imparare sulla vita. Ma in fondo il viaggio di Hector è un po’ il viaggio di tutti, e trovare la propria felicità non è cosa semplice, e non esiste una strada o una ricetta buona per tutti.
Una scena mi ha colpito particolarmente nella sua semplicità: i monaci cinesi, da cui è ospitato, lo invitano all’aperto a godere del vento; tutti escono a accogliere questo vento che fischia tra le bandiere tibetane, svolazzanti in un cielo azzurro intenso incorniciato da meravigliose montagne bianche. Tutti sorridono, ridono, sembrano come bambini e aprono le braccia per giocare con la brezza che li circonda. Forse quella è la felicità? Godere del momento? Godere delle cose semplici che madre natura ci offre? Non ci è data risposta sicura, ma sicuramente la scena offre leggerezza e dolcezza.
Quasi a conclusione del film compare un nuovo personaggio, un professore, che studia la felicità. Attraverso le sue parole e qualche immagine bellissima e coloratissima del nostro cervello “emozionato”, ci parla di questa ricerca, e questo è il profondo messaggio che il personaggio/film ci regala:
“ci impegniamo costantemente a essere felici eppure più ci concentriamo sulla nostra felicità personale più essa ci sfugge via; anzi è soltanto quando siamo impegnati in qualcos’altro, quando siamo concentrati, balliamo, lavoriamo, mangiamo … allora sperimentiamo la felicità come conseguenza, come un effetto collaterale. Non ci dovremmo preoccupare della ricerca della felicità ma piuttosto della felicità della ricerca”
E lo stesso professore guardando il cervello emettere emozioni tradotte in colori, alla domanda che gli viene posta: “qual è il colore giusto?” risponde “Sono tutti giusti”.
E questi colori riportano la mia mente alle bandiere colorate scompigliate dal vento di cui parlavo poco fa. Sembra che nessun colore (e quindi nessuna emozione) sia sbagliato e tutti possano portare alla felicità: questa è la conclusione che ho tratto da un film che mi ha divertito, emozionato e dato buoni consigli.
Come il monaco dice via skype al nostro Hector ormai tornato a casa (si, anche i monaci nella loro semplicità amano usare la tecnologia!):
